There are many advantages that put wind power
ahead of other methods of producing energy. Here is a basic
outline of several Wind Power Advantages. Wind power is widely
endorsed by environmentalists because it is completely clean.
Unlike the carbon spewing fossil fuels, wind power has no carbon
emissions and does not damage the environment or the planet. It
does not create harmful smog either, the breathing of which can
cause lung damage in humans. It even beats out hydroelectric
power because it does alter the environment in the way that a
dam across a river would.
Because wind power uses the energy of the wind, the energy that
can be tapped is endless. As long as there is wind, there will
be energy to power the world. It will never run out, unlike
fossil fuels, and it will always remain one of the most potent
forces on the surface of the planet. The fact that wind power is
unlimited and self renewing is accompanied by the fact that it
is also abundant. Wind turbines could be placed everywhere that
there is wind, which is most of the planet. With large “wind
farms” consisting of scores of windmills, enough energy could be
generated to power entire cities. |

In fact, enough wind
power could dry up any dependency on foreign energy sources. And
since wind is everywhere, remote areas, out-of-the-way towns or
places not on the power grid could use wind turbines to generate
electricity. Though wind turbines take up a fair amount of
vertical space, the ground space that they take up is very
small, meaning that many could be placed in a small area and
farming and development could still continue around their bases.
Above all else, there is the matter of price. In the past twenty
years the cost of producing wind electricity has fallen nearly
eighty percent. This makes wind power one of the cheapest forms
of clean energy, cheap enough that it could be created in large
amounts and on a large scale and putting it at the forefront of
technologies that could replace petroleum and natural gas. One
kilowatt hour of wind electricity costs just between 4 and 6
cents. And placing wind turbines in rural, flat farming areas
would give those areas a considerable economic boost.
These are only a few of the most simple, basic Wind Power
Advantages. There are countless more advantages to this clean,
effective energy source. There are many advantages of wind
power. It is better for the environment than fossil fuels
because it has no carbon emissions, nor does it pollute the
atmosphere with toxic smog or acid rain. It also is an endless
source of energy that constantly renews itself and is widely
available. Wind turbines don’t take up much space, either, so
many could be placed in a small area of land and agriculture
could be continued around them. Wind power is also much cheaper
than it used to be and can be created in great quantities
efficiently and at a low price. Turbines placed in rural areas
would bolster those areas economies.
